Terry Jenkins, M.D.
Dr. Jenkins earned his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1975. He then completed his internal medicine residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., and a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology. Dr. Jenkins concluded his 22 year military career as Colonel and Chief, Medical Oncology Service, Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, where he also served as director for the medical oncology/hematology fellowship program. He is co-director of medical oncology at St. Joseph’s Regional Cancer Center and past chairman of the Department of Medicine and cancer committee. Dr. Jenkins has practiced at the Brazos Valley Cancer Center since 1997.

We are grateful for Dr. Jenkins. My diagnosis came in the middle of the night when I went to the ER for a Miscarriage. I hadn’t even met him yet, but he was willing to listen to my desires and allowed me to go home and be with my children rather than transferring to inpatient care as he had planned. That flexibility and willingness to care for the needs of his patients, and not only their medical ones, have continued to be defining characteristics in my experience. Even now, I am at MD Anderson, but Dr. Jenkins is still available to handle anything I need where he can save me the drive.
Dr. Terry Jenkins guided my HR2 breast cancer treatment in 2011. I have remained cancer free to this day, May 16, 2025. I have continued in annual follow- up care with him these past 14 years. In addition to his knowledge and experience with cancer treatment, I’ve found him, and his staff, to always be professional, yet personable and kind.
